"Every year our excitement for the upcoming Festival grows and this year is no exception," said Heartland Truly Moving Pictures President and CEO Jeffery L. Sparks in a statement. "The 2008 Festival brings many highlights including a North American premiere, a free exclusive Festival premiere and the return of the FESTPass. We're excited to not only accommodate but astound this year's Festival goers with more programming options than ever before." The 17th annual Heartland Film Festival, which will take place Oct. 16-24, will bring more than 60 films from around the world to Indianapolis. Official Selection films under the dramatic features category includes "The Calling Game," "Fighter," "Love Me," "Ocean of Pearls" and "A Secret." Official Selection films under the documentary features category includes "FLOW: For Love of Water," "Garrison Keillor: The Man on the Radio in the Red Shoes," "My Life Inside," "Paper or Plastic?," "An Unlikely Weapon" and "Victory Over Darkness." Opening the fest on Oct.16 will be the North American premiere of Mark Herman's "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" at The Murat Centre. The Festival will close Oct. 24 at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center with a screening of a film that is yet to be determined, and the announcement of the 2008 Audience Choice Award winners.
