Indiewire By Indiewire | Indiewire August 20, 2008 at 5:21AM

Capitalizing on the high profile awareness of the 29th Summer Olympics in Bejing, Icarus Films is showcasing -- exclusively via Amazon Unbox -- Christoph Schaub and Michael Schindhelm's "Bird's Nest: Herzog & de Meuron in China." The doc looks at architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron's building of Bejing's distinctive National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest. Available for a limited time through the end of the Games, the film is priced for both sale and rental. Company president Jonathan Miller developed the strategy while in conversations with Amazon aimed at securing a swift released timed to the Olympics. While he is open to other online opportunites for the film, after the Olympics, the film will continue on its traditional release plan, including theatrical books, nontheatrical sales, and a DVD release next year, including a new architecture line for the company.
