IFC Entertainment has acquired Eran Riklis' Berlinale Panorama audience award winner "Lemon Tree." The Israeli drama, from the filmmaker of 2004's "Syrian Bride," was co-produced by Bettina Brokemper, Antoine de Clermont-Tonnerre, Michael Eckelt and Riklis. "Eran is a born filmmaker who, through an almost unspoken relationship that develops between two women over a lemon tree orchard, is able to convey more about the state of the Middle East than most newspaper headlines," praised IFC's Jonathan Sehring, in a statement. The company's Arianna Bocco negotiated the deal with Didar Domehri from sales company Films Distribution. [Eugene Hernandez]
