Emily Haddad, a Stillwater-based screenwriter and filmmaker, has been announced as the winner of the first Fresh Filmmakers Production Grant, a new funding program sponsored by IFP Minnesota, ETS Pictures and the Twin Cities-based production community. The purpose of the grant is to support beginning narrative filmmakers in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. This grant, the first of its kind in the region, will facilitate the production of one short narrative film directed by a filmmaker who has been making films for no more than five years. Haddad will direct her new screenplay, "The Egg Timer," with the resources provided by the Fresh Filmmakers Grant. [Peter Knegt]
