The 5th annual Milwaukee International Film Festival announced that the fest, which concluded Sunday, awarded "August the First," directed by Lanre Olabisi, as the first recipient of the newly organized Film Movement Distribution Award (Feature), which was established with distribution company Film Movement to provide theatrical and DVD release for one feature and one short film screening. Becky Brazil's "Sweetie" won the short film award. The festival, which broke attendance records this year, also presented Germany film "Emma's Bliss," directed by Sven Taddicken, with its Audience Award for fiction and Daniel Karslake's "For the Bible Tells Me So," for documentary.
