The 9th Annual Ojai Film Festival in Ojai, California, has announced its slate for the November 6-9, 2008 event with 57 independent films, lifetime achievement honor ceremonies, and a seminar. Opening the fest will be a free outdoor community screening of Charlie Chaplin's "City Lights." "The film has a new digitally recorded soundtrack performed by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra that will knock your socks off," said Fest Artistic Director Steve Grumette. Other screenings include David Modigliani's "Crawford," Rocco DeVilliers's "The Flyboys," Paul H-O's "Guest of Cindy Sherman and Eric Daniel Metzgar's "Life. Support. Music.." The festival will honor sci-fi author Ray Bradbury and directing/producing team Lauren Shuler Donner and Richard Donner on the Saturday, followed by the Filmmaker Awards and the Closing Night Party.
