A deal has been closed by Swiss and UK based financing, production and sales company Omega Entertainment to distribute "Anna Nicole," a biopic starring singer Willa Ford as the deceased model and reality TV star. The filming was financed by Montage Entertainment and Nasser Entertainment, with Nasser also producing. "Anna Nicole" is Montage's first picture to go into production and is currently shooting in Los Angeles.
The agreement between Omega and Montage is a one-year first look deal. "We are delighted to be able to handle such a timely film," commented Omega founder Markus Barmettler in a statement. "'Anna Nicole' will be ready for delivery to the international market in July of this year." The deal also includes the films "5000 Degrees," "Tillman," and "Escape From Rikers." They will be added to Omega's current slate, which includes Deepa Mehta's upcoming "Luna" and Richard Gere starrer "The Flock." [Peter Knegt]
