The 19th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival announced that actress Halle Berry will be honored with the Desert Palm Achievement Award at the festival's awards gala on Saturday, January 25, 2008. Daniel Day-Lewis was previously announced as the male recipient of the award. "We're excited to honor Halle Berry with the Festival's Desert Palm Achievement Award for her impressive body of work and mesmerizing performance in this year's 'Things We Lost in the Fire,' said the festival's chairman Earl Greenburg. "Her dramatic acting and powerful emotion shine throughout the film, showing her incredible talent as an actress." Past recipients of this award include Charlize Theron, Naomi Watts and Kate Winslet.
