iW NEWS | "We Are Together" Wins Tribeca Audience Prize

Paul Taylor's "We Are Together" (Thina Simunye) won The Cadillac Award, selected by audiences at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival. The documentary, about South Afica's Agape orphanage for children left behind by people who have died of AIDS, debuted at IDFA in November where it also won a festival audience prize (and where indieWIRE first wrote about the film). Producer Teddy Leifer and Taylor confrmed that they will dedicate the film's $25,000 cash award to school fees for the children of Agape, through their RISE Foundation. The festival's other prizes were presented at a ceremony earlier this week, where "We Are Together" also won a Special Jury Mention.
