Instead of staying inside and weathering "Hurricane" Irene in downtown NYC, Brandon Roots and Felix Thompson, two young directors who work out of the production company Buffalo Picture House, decided to take to the streets and make a movie.

The short, "Irene NYC," is a gorgeous black-and-white snapshot that captures the Big Apple at its calmest (empty subway platforms, vacated streets); a far cry from the hysteria generated before the tropical storm hit.
