"Bastards of Young"
Tweetable Logline:
The last annual Halloween party; but instead of celebrating, friends are forced to confront darker realities: adultery, divorce, pregnancy.
Elevator Pitch:
Jesse and Jen are married. And split up the night before their old pals' annual Halloween party. They go, and it's a mess. Instead of celebrating life and career successes, the soon-to-be-ex couple and friends are forced to confront darker realities: adultery, divorce, pregnancy-- the basic issues that make adulthood more complicated than anyone expects it will be. Hi-jinx ensue.
Life in your 30s: not old, but definitely not young anymore.
Production Team:
Writer/Director: Josiah Signor
Story: Andy Martino
Cinematographer/Story: Michael Rossetti
Producers: Ryan Silbert and Robert Profusek
About the Production:
"I'm done making short films. So I decided to write and direct a feature for the same cost. I'm at NYU in the grad film program and I literally have no money. But through the years there, I've bonded with some great people who are super talented and smart, and together we are going to shoot this feature. (It also helps that the equipment, RED camera and insurance are covered by NYU.)
"This is a story based loosely on real friends of mine who got divorced (and married) at a young age, and how they deal with that at 31." -- Josiah Signor
Current Status:
Pre-production, shooting in October.
