Here's your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you'll have the chance to vote for your favorite.
In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.
"Elijah the Prophet"
Elijah, the lovable Jewish Prophet, finds himself in trouble during Passover when he's pulled over on DUI charges.
Starring Brian Markinson (Caprica, Charlie Wilson's War) and Melanie Nicholls-King (The Wire, Rookie Blue) our film tells the story of the pious, chummy and alcoholic Prophet, Elijah, whose antics have graced Jewish households for years. Unfortunately for the childlike servant of God, not everyone understands that for him, drunk driving is a divine right, and he soon ends up in trouble with the law.
The film uses the Jewish tradition of Passover to tell a tale of innocence lost and the harsh realities of growing up, but does so with an irreverent twist that gives it universal appeal.

About the Production:
"There's a unique quality to the script in that it tells a Jewish story, but does so without taking itself seriously, and without alienating non-Jewish audiences. I laughed out loud multiple times reading it for the first time, and still get a kick out of a lot of the lines of dialog.
"The script accomplishes a lot in 15 pages, with underlying themes that play out effortlessly without getting in the way of the crass humor and wit. It's a lot of fun and I think people are going to love it when we're done." -- James Cooper
