Here's your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you'll have the chance to vote for your favorite.
In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.
Untitled Jackson Hole Project
What would you do if your life long best friend asked you to father her child? Or asked you to offer up your husband to provide the DNA?
Meredith, a successful novelist and trust-fund baby, has a penchant for drama. Awkward, drama. She wants a baby and makes a solid case to her lifelong, best male friends to make a donation. What starts out as a festive holiday weekend in Jackson Hole, WY quickly degrades into a test of relationships amongst the entire clan as it inadvertently causes them to face some tough stuff in their own partnerships – and re-examine their own friendship with Meredith. At the core of this comedic drama is the question of family and how we define that in our busy, fractured lives.
Writer/Director: Courtney Balaker ("Cute Couple," "America in Primetime" (Producer), "The Collector" (Co-Producer))
Producer: Melanie Miller ("Detour"; Director of Acquisitions, Gravitas Ventures)
Producer: Diane Becker ("Detour"; Line Producer: "Sexy Evil Genius," "Koran By Heart," "Sergio")
About the Production:
"I've always been intrigued by the dynamic of couples within groups, and even more so by friends who have known each other for years and get together once or twice a year as they get older. Friendships change as life changes, and the things friends had in common ten years ago may not be the same today. What keeps us together? How is family defined with modern choices available today? The script was inspired by my short, "Cute Couple" – and I decided to set it in the picturesque town where it won its first audience award, Jackson Hole, WY." -- Courtney Balaker
