The Santa Barbara International Film Festival will honor Jennifer Lawrence with its Outstanding Performer of the Year Award in February. With a special tribute celebrating the Oscar-nominated actress's performances in "The Hunger Games" and "Silver Linings Playbook," SBIFF will make particular note of the disparate roles Lawrence has played in films such as "Winter's Bone," "Like Crazy" and "The Beaver."
“Ms. Lawrence impressed us earlier this year in 'The Hunger Games,'" said SBIFF executive director Roger Durling. "But has now left us moonstruck with her career-defining performance in 'Silver Linings Playbook.' Naming her our Outstanding Performer of the Year is an understatement."
In accepting the award, Lawrence will join previous winners Viola Davis (2012), James Franco (2011) and Colin Firth (2010).
The 28th edition of SBIFF will run Jan. 24 through Feb. 3.
