After premiering at SXSW earlier this week to much buzz, the latest project from Academy Award-nominated director Orlando von Einsiedel ("Virunga") has touched down on YouTube. The director has been joined by executive producer J.J. Abrams, Bad Robot and Epic Digital, as they bring forth "Moon Shot," a brand new series about the Google Lunar XPRIZE. The nine-part documentary series has emerged online today, in partnership with Google.
On the surface, "Moon Shot" is a series about the brilliant, determined individuals competing for the prestigious Google Lunar XPRIZE. However, it’s also character-driven and absolutely awe-inspiring, giving us an intimate look at the teams fighting for their dreams as they embark on this once-in-a-lifetime journey. The series will explore the lives of the various charismatic members, who have made tremendous sacrifices to get where they are today.
With a reward of $30 million, the Google Lunar XPRIZE is the largest prize competition of all time as it also aims to encourage entrepreneurs to pave a way for affordable access to the Moon and beyond. They work to inspire the world’s next generation of scientists, engineers and explorers to reach for the stars and go for their dreams.
We’ve got the premiere episode of "Moon Shot" for you above. Check out the rest on YouTube.
