Triple threat Lake Bell is back in business, as the "In a World..." writer/director/star has set up her newest feature, an ensemble comedy titled "What's the Point?" The new film will again see Bell writing and directing, and she will also star in the feature alongside newly announced cast member Ed Helms. The film is billed as "an ensemble comedy investigating the concept that marriage should be a seven-year contract with an option to renew."
"What's the Point?" is Bell's first directorial outing after the success of her Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award-winning "In a World...," which debuted at Sundance in 2013.
Bell will also produce the film alongside Jett Steiger from Ways & Means, Miranda Bailey and Amanda Marshall from Cold Iron Pictures, with executive producers Jason Beck and Andy Bohn from The Film Arcade. The film will be financed by Cold Iron Pictures and The Film Arcade.
Of the news, Bailey commented, "Supporting female filmmakers is incredibly important to us and we are so excited to produce Lake’s follow-up to the fantastic 'In a World.'"
"What's the Point?" will start production next month in Los Angeles.
