"Bullet on a Wire," the first in-house feature from "provisional," an
independent film production and video distribution company based in
Laramie, WY, will receive its first commercial theatrical screenings in
the next few months -- at the Red Eye Theater in late February, at the
Anthology Film Archives in New York (Apr. 23-May 3), and at the Music Box
in Chicago -- with dates for further bookings to follow over the summer.

"Bullet on a Wire" was shown in 18 film festivals in the US over the
past year and a half -- most recently at the Rotterdam International Film
Festival and in London at the ICA as part of an American Underground
Cinema program line-up.

Since provisional officially began in 1991, with the intention of someday
becoming a film production company, they have released 10 independent
films on videotape. "Bullet on a Wire," written by the company's founding
member Joe Carducci and his partner, Chicago-based Jim Sikora, who also
produced and directed the film, was completed on a $14,000 budget.
Carducci told indieWIRE that he is pleased with the screenings "Bullet on
a Wire" has booked so far, noting, "It's a huge undertaking to build
distribution," says Carducci.

provisional's second feature, "Rock & Roll Punk," a comedy, also written
and produced by Carducci and Sikora, is currently in post production and
is slated to premiere at a festival by Fall of 1998. Carducci plans to
promote "Rock & Roll Punk" through the same avenues as "Wire," though he
anticipates "Punk" might be more of a challenge to a mainstream market
because of its narrower content.

Ultimately, says Carducci, income generated by video releases will allow
provisional to continue producing feature films, eventually taking on
projects from other writers and producers. "Bullet on a Wire" will be
released on video after the October East Coast Video Show.
