Thompson on Hollywood is reporting that Sony Pictures Classics has acquired Telluride premiere "The Last Station" for North American and Latin American release. The film follows the final year of the life of Russian Socialist writer Leo Tolstoy. It was directed by Michael Hoffman and starring Helen Mirren, Christopher Plummer, Paul Giamatti and James McAvoy, and will be released in time for 2009 awards consideration.
