Lions Gate Films has announced a deal with Twisted Pictures, creators of "Saw," to distribute the production outfit's slate of nine more horror/thriller films. Twisted is the genre label of Evolution Management.

"Twisted Pictures' firm commitment to producing fresh, exciting films in the lucrative horror/thriller genre is as strong as Lions Gate's is to marketing and distributing them," said Lions Gate president of production Peter Block. "Following the terrific experience we have had on Twisted Pictures' first film 'Saw', we are looking forward to teaming up with them on their forthcoming projects, which are sure to be equally provocative and innovative."

For the slate, Twisted announced that it is seeking writers and/or directors with existing scripts. The company may also collaborate with outside producers on the projects.

Lions Gate's Block and the company's Jason Constantine and Wendy Jaffe negotiated the deal with Peter Schlessel and Steve Monas of Twisted, who will serve as executive producers of the films.
