Method Fest Turns 11 With 11 World Premieres

"We're delighted with this incredible lineup--our best ever--and with the continued great performances delivered by the world's actors," said Don Franken, Executive Director of The Method Fest Independent Film Festival, in a statement. "We've prided ourselves on an independent path outside other festivals' typical lineups. We screen world premieres and true discoveries, mixed with a few larger films."

The 11th annual festival, scheduled for March 26-April 2 in Calabasas, CA, will feature 11 World Premieres and 6 US Premieres. In all, the Festival features 33 feature films from seven countries and the US.

Max Mayer's "Adam," starring Rose Byrne and Hugh Dancy, will open the festival Thursday night, March 26, at 7 pm, at the Regency Agoura Hills 8. The film recently premiered at Sundance.

World premieres at the fest include "A Deal is A Deal," starring Mackenzie Crook and Colm Meany, "Anytown," starring Matt O'Leary, writer/director Brent Huff's "Cat City," "Dropping In: The True Story of Don Wimmer," "Lunatics, Lovers and Poets," "In The Parts Left Over, "Pig Hunt," "My Sixteenth Summer," director Becky Smith's "16 to Life," "Stephanie's Image," starring Melissa Leo, and "The Twenty," which stars director/producer Chopper Bernet in "the story of a man whose final journey to sobriety begins with a message written on a twenty-dollar bill."

In making the slate announcement, Method Fest presented a pair of special awards to Peter Bogdanovich and Tanna Frederick. Frederick received the Festival's "Performer to Watch" award. She recently gave an award-winning performance in Hollywood Dreams. Peter Bogdanovich received The Method Fest Auteur Director Award for a noted body of work that includes The Last Picture Show, which received eight Oscar nominations.
