Sean Ellis's "Metro Manila" led the winners of the British Independent Film Awards, with a prize haul that included best film and best director. James McAvoy ("Filth"), Lindsay Luncan ("Le Week-End"), Imogen Poots ("The Look of Love") and Ben Mendelsohn ("Starred Up") won the acting prizes.
