Michelle Williams, Sarah Polley and Luke Kirby Talk to Indiewire at 'Take This Waltz' Premiere

New York has been under a heatwave the last couple of days, but last night, some of the city's lucky residents got to seek refuge at the Landmark Theatres Sunshine Cinema for Forevermark's special screening of Magnolia Pictures' "Take This Waltz," hosted by The Peggy Siegal Company.

The film, directed by Sarah Polley ("Away From Her") and starring Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Luke Kirby and Sarah Silverman, had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2011. It tells the tale of Margot (Williams), who tries to balance a happy married life with an irresistible attraction to an artsy, handsome young man (Kirby) she meets on a trip -- only to discover he's a neighbor that lives across the street from her.

Indiewire caught up with Michelle Williams, Luke Kirby and Sarah Polley at the screening.

Williams looked her typically stunning self in a black Altuzarra dress, Forevermark jewels and Givenchy shoes. Up next for the actress is Sam Raimi's

"Oz: The Great and Powerful," set for a March 2013 release. In the blockbuster, Williams plays Glinda along the likes of James Franco (Oz), Mila Kunis (Theodora), Zach Braff (Frank) and Rachel Weisz (Evanora). Williams, who started filming "Oz" in the summer of last year, wrapped it up in the winter and for now, says she has no plans. "I'm taking time, I'm just taking some time," she said.

Her "Take This Waltz" co-star, Ontario-born Luke Kirby, had nothing but praise for Williams, saying getting the chance to not just work with her, but have her play his love interest in the film, was very "special."

"Just in knowing [Williams'] work, I’ve been so taken with it and impressed and you know, I was just doubly charmed to get to meet her and find out that she’s a kind person and also very available actor," Kirby said. "She doesn't really have any tricks, she just has a great capacity to be present and to sort of listen and that just made the summer of this shoot really a wonderful exercise in acting, because that’s really all you can ask for."

"Take This Waltz" comes over five years after Polley had her directorial debut feature film, "Away From Her," and the director herself sets the record straight on why she waited so long to come out with her second feature.

"I just want to live life in between films so I have something to say," Polley said. "And I'm pretty young so I feel like four to five years is a good amount of time to develop something meaningful that you actually want to say in a film."

Up next for the Canadian actress, director and screenwriter? An adaptation of Margaret Atwood's "Alias Grace."

The night before, Woody Allen attracted a throng of celebrities to a special screening of his latest ensemble comedy, "To Rome With Love," hosted by The Cinema Society, The Hollywood Reporter and Piaget. Below check out photos from both nights:
