Mill Valley To Honor Mirren, Robbins

The 29th Annual Mill Valley Film Festival recently announced its schedule of over 200 films, including 13 world premieres and 18 US premieres. The festival will pay tribute to actors Tim Robbins and Helen Mirren with programs of clips and conversation. Mirren's latest, Stephen Frears' "The Queen," will also screen. Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu will also be honored at a Spotlight program, where his film "Babel" will be screened. The festival runs October 5-15, with Anthony Minghella's "Breaking and Entering" and Kevin MacDonald's "The Last King of Scotland" jointly opening the festival, followed by an gala at the newly remodeled Strawberry Village Shopping Center.
