MoMA Opens '06 German Series

Kino! 2006: New Films From Germany, the 27th annual survey of contemporary German cinema at the Museum of Modern Art in New York kicks off tonight (October 26th) with Chris Kraus' "Vier Minuten" (Four Minutes). Other features included in this year's program are Michael Verhoven's "Der Unbekannte Soldat" (The Unknown Soldier -- What Did You Do in the War, Dad?), Romuald Karmaker's "Hamburger Lektionen" (Hamburg Lectures), Andreas Dresen's "Sommer vorm Balkon" (Summer in Berlin), Valeska Grisebach's "Sehnsucht" (Longing), Hans Steinbichler's "Winterreise" (Winter Journey), and Michael Verhoven's "Der Unbekannte Soldat" (The Unknown Soldier -- What Did You Do in the War, Dad?)."
