Movielink, the VOD company, announced that today it is unveiling its new broadband video-on-demand service giving viewers a chance to buy movie downloads or rent them for a day, via VOD. All of the major Hollywood studios, except Disney have signed deals with the company and the first title to be released on DVD and VOD on the same day will be Oscar winner, "Brokeback Mountain." The service is only available to PC users, but Apple's iTunes is expected to launch a movie download section in the future. With the new Movielink service, audiences can view downloads on up to three PC computers, transfer the movie to DVD in Windows Media format, or stream it via home networking, according to the announcement.
