Moviepilot.com will launch a new agency designed to aid studios in marketing their releases by using "social media intelligence and analytics to better understand and connect with target audiences," a company press release announced Wednesday. A personal recommendation platform for movie and TV fans, Moviepilot runs 15 Facebook pages that together form a community of over 10 million.
Having previously overseen campaigns for studios including Paramount, Universal and Disney, Moviepilot, through its new agency, will use data gathered from fan communities to execute targeted promotion strategies across social channels like Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. The company hopes thus to "reach the right audiences in the most effective and direct way, with minimum wastage."
“We founded Moviepilot to pair great fans with great movies and along the way help studios and independents to better understand their audiences," said Moviepilot co-founder and CEO Tobi Bauckhage. "Our knowledge of movie and TV fan behaviour and big data patterns, together with our experience of running social campaigns across various channels, complete a unique offering for the industry that meets an increasing demand."
Founded in 2007, Moviepilot is headquartered in Berlin and maintains offices in Los Angeles and London.
