Moving Pictures Finds "Tanner Hall" Ahead of New York Premiere

Moving Pictures Film and Television (MPF&TV) has announced its acquisition of Tatiana von Furstenberg and Francesca Gregorini's "Tanner Hall," the boarding school drama that premiered at last year's Toronto International Film Festival and will have its New York premiere tonight as part of the Gen Art Film Festival in New York.

Written and directed by von Furstenberg) and Francesca Gregorini, "Tanner Hall" stars Rooney Mara, Brie Larson, Amy Ferguson, Amy Sedaris, Tom Everett Scott, Chris Kattan and Georgia King. It explores the private world of an all-girls boarding school in a run down New England town.

"Going into Cannes, MPF&TV is thrilled to have acquired 'Tanner Hall' as we seek out international opportunities for the film which has so many different promotable elements", said Gary Hirsch, Senior Acquisitions Executive, MPF&TV, in a statement

"MPF&TV is delighted to be working with Julie R. Snyder and the cast/crew of 'Tanner Hall' in preparing for upcoming festivals. Additionally we're enthusiastic for the theatrical release and the potential opportunities that will result," added Ted Chalmers, President of the Film & TV division.

The deal was brokered by Josh Braun of Submarine Pictures and attorney Craig Emanuel from Loeb & Loeb. MPF&TV's negotiation team was led by Gary Hirsch, MPF&TV's Senior Acquisitions Executive, formerly with First Look Studios and Sony Pictures. "Tanner Hall" has an estimated theatrical release date of late August to September.
