Museum of the Moving Image To Host Robert Zemeckis Film Retrospective Featuring Advanced Screening of 'Flight'

New York's Museum of the Moving Image is hosting a film retrospective of Oscar-winning director Robert Zemeckis from October 28 - November 4, in honor of his latest film to open wide, "Flight." The series will include screenings of some of his best known films ("Forrest Gump," "Back To The Future" and "Cast Away"), as well as an advanced screening of his newest work, that stars Denzel Washington. There will also be a Q&A with Zemeckis, Washington, John Goodman and writer John Gatins following the "Flight" screening.

New York's Museum of the Moving Image is hosting a film retrospective of Oscar-winning director Robert Zemeckis from October 28 - November 4, in honor of his latest film to open wide, "Flight." The series will include screenings of some of his best known films ("Forrest Gump," "Back To The Future" and "Cast Away"), as well as an advanced screening of his newest work, that stars Denzel Washington. There will also be a Q&A with Zemeckis, Washington, John Goodman and writer John Gatins following the "Flight" screening.

The special screening of "Flight" will be held at New York's famous movie palace The Ziegfeld on October 29. The film is set for a wide release November 2 with plenty of Oscar buzz surrounding Denzel Washington's performance. He previously won for his roles in "Glory" and "Training Day."

"As dazzling as his films can be, they are also marked by a mastery of cinematic language, and surprising emotional depth," said chief curator David Schwartz, in a statement. "His latest film, 'Flight,' is both an action thriller and an intense and deeply moving character study with a bracing, audacious performance by Denzel Washington."
