The New York Film Critics Online (NYFCO) have given Michel Hazanavicius's "The Artist" its top prize, joining a mulitude of other critics groups who have done the same.

The film took best picture and best director honors, while Michael Shannon, Meryl Streep, Albert Brooks and Melissa McCarthy won acting honors. "A Separation" and "Cave of Forgotten Dreams" won foreign film and documentary, respectively (the same as they did at the New York Film Critics Awards).

Last year, David Fincher's "The Social Network" led the way, taking best picture, best director, and best screenplay. Acting winners included James Franco, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale and Melissa Leo.

Full list of this year's announced winners below. Check out a list of all the awards so far this year here.
