New Directors Series to Open with McKay's "People"

A scene from Jim McKay's "Everyday People," which will open the 33rd New Directors/New Films series.


The feature lineup is set for the 33rd New Directors/New Films Series, presented by the Department of Film and Media, The Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center. The festival will kick-off on March 24, 2004 with a screening of Jim McKay's "Everyday People," which debuted last month at the Sundance Film Festival. The festival will conclude on April 4th following screenings at Alice Tully Hall and the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center and at MoMA Film at the Gramercy Theater on 23rd St.

The films in the series were programmed by a six-person committee from both organizations, including Marian Masone, Joanna Ney and Richard Pena from the Film Society and Mary Lea Bandy, Laurence Kardish, and Jytte Jensen from MoMA.
