New York Times: Director Zigs From Stars to Nonactors in a New Film

By Indiewire | Indiewire September 22, 2005 at 2:36AM

"Is it inappropriate for the director of 'Ocean's Twelve' to go to Belpre, Ohio?" Steven Soderbergh asked recently, during the Toronto International Film Festival. The director was here for the premiere of his latest film, "Bubble," a drama about working-class characters swept away by jealousy and murder and driven by forces they cannot wholly articulate. The film is to be shown at the New York Film Festival on Sunday and Monday, and is scheduled for release in January. Manohla Dargis reports. (free subscription required)
