New York Women's Film Festival Adds Day, Sidebars

The New York Women's Film Festival has added several sidebars and
special events to its lineup, which is being unveiled today, and has
added a fifth day to the event, scheduled to run April 22-26 at New
York City's The Screening Room. The festival has innaugurated a
Young Filmmaker's Scholarship which will provide two young
women, both high school juniors, with full tuition, materials and
expenses for New York University's Summer Filmmaker's Workshop for High
School Students. Each winner will also receive a video camera.


The festival is also organizing tributes to four New York filmmakers:
Nancy Savoca ("True Love"), Beth B. ("Two Small Bodies") and the
mother-daughter animation team of Faith and Emily Hubley. The festival
will also present an evening of music videos directed by women, curated
by Breeders and Lisa Loeb's manager Janet Billig and Christina Martinez
of the band Boss Hogg; a staged reading of a new screenplay and a
lecture series.
