Prominent titles from the selection include festival-favorite 'Beasts of the Southern Wild,' which won the FIPRESCI Prize at Cannes; and 'Eat Sleep Die,' which garnered acclaim at both the Venice Film Festival and TIFF. Angelina Nikonova's 'Twilight Portrait' was the recipient of last year's Golden Puffin.
The twelve nominees are eligible for the International Federation of Film Critics' prestigious FIPRESCI Prize, as well as the Church of Iceland Award. The Reykjavík International Film Festival, which has become one of the more popular international festivals over the years, begins on September 27.
