As the nominees await tonight's big ceremony, they can take heart in the fact that even if they don't walk home with the golden statuette named Oscar, they can make one on their own (with the help of a 3D printer).
With the help of 3D engineer James Gustafson, low-budget special effects guru Joey Shanks, who produces a weekly series for PBS Digital Studios, explains how to re-create the Oscar statuette using 3D scanning and printing.
