By Indiewire | Indiewire October 4, 2007 at 10:27AM

Paramount Vantage has delayed the release of Marc Forster's "The Kite Runner" to get three of the film's young actors out of Kabul in response to fears that they could be harmed for their participation in the enactment of a rape scene. Executives at Vantage are contending with issues stemming from the rising lawlessness in Kabul since the boys were initially cast, David M. Halbfinger reports. The release of the $18 million film will be pushed back six weeks to December 14, 2007.
