October Picks "Up At The Villa"

by indieWIRE Director, Philip Haas and his writing partner, Belinda Haas, have sold U.S. and major rights to October Films, for their next project "Up At The Villa." Scheduled to begin shooting in June, "Up At The Villa" will star Kristin Scott Thomas and Sean Penn. Based on a Somerset Maugham novella, "Villa" is a dramatic romance set in 1938. Set in Italy, the action takes place in a British and American expatriate community. Nigel Sinclair and Guy East of Intermedia will executive produce. Philip and Belinda Haas' previous credits include the "Angels and Insects," "Music of Chance" and the forthcoming "Blood Oranges."
