Hollywood Boulevard mystery "Footprints," the feature directorial debut of screenwriter and playwright Steven Peros, has been picked up by Paladin, the company's CEO, Mark Urman said Wednesday. The film, which traveled to festivals earlier this year, will debut in exclusive engagements in New York and Los Angeles in March, 2011.

Urman entered into discussions with Peros about distributing the film following a preview of the film at the American Cinematheque last Spring.

Sybil Temtchine stars as a young woman who awakens from a deep sleep to find herself lying among the legendary handprints and footprints at the famed Grauman's Chinese Theater. With no memory of who she is or how she got there, she spends a day among the colorful denizens of the district - tourists and tour guides, celebrity impersonators, memorabilia salesmen, and assorted film fans - trying to reconstruct her life. Like Hollywood itself, which is both an actual place and a symbol of countless dreams and dreamers, she is never quite sure how much of this day is real and how much is imagined.

"Footprints" is a reunion for Peros and Urman, who previously worked together on the 2002 feature, "The Cat's Meow," which Peros wrote and adapted from his successful stage play. was filmed at such Hollywood Landmarks as the Chinese, Egyptian, and Kodak Theaters, with the full cooperation of The American Cinematheque, Mann Theaters, and other local establishments.

Commented Urman in a statement, "It is a pleasure to be working again with Steven, whose affection for films and film folklore is completely contagious." "Under Mark's watch, 'The Cat's Meow' had the highest per screen average of any film the weekend it opened. He knows how to match a special film with its audience and I know he will do the same with 'Footprints,'" said Peros in a statement.

Now in its second year, Paladin recently announced that it will be releasing the forthcoming drama, "A Love Affair of Sorts," by David Guy Levy, on which Urman served as executive producer. Next up for the company is "I Am," the first non-fiction feature made by noted Hollywood filmmaker Tom Shadyac, which will open in February, 2011.
