Palm Gets Hockey Film

Palm Pictures has announced a deal for all U.S. rights to Charles Biname's "The Rocket: The Legend of Rocket Richard." The film, winner of nine 2007 Genie Awards, is a biographical sports film about the famed Canadian hockey player, played by Roy Dupuis. Company head of theatrical distribution Ed Arentz made the deal with Emmanuelle Dessureault from Montreal-based FunFilm Distribution. Palm will distribute the movie in theaters later this year, followed by DVD release next year. [Eugene Hernandez]
