Palm Springs To Honor MacLaine, Theron, Newman & Others

The 17th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival has announced another group of honorees for its upcoming festival. Actress Shirley MacLaine will receive the festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award this year, while actress Charlize Theron will be honored with the Desert Palm Achievement Award, and composer Thomas Newman will receive the Frederick Loewe Award for Film Composing. The awards will be presented on January 7, 2006 at the event’s awards gala. Other previously announced honorees include director David Cronenberg, actor Jake Gyllenhaal, actor Terrence Howard and producer Michael London. The festival will take place January 5 - 16 in Palm Springs. |
