Paramount Vantage has acquired worldwide rights (excluding Japan, Germany, and French Free TV) to "Son of Rambow", which premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival. The film, a coming-of-age comedy written and directed by Garth Jennings, is set in the 1980's and centers on two young English boys who are inspired to make a Rambo movie of their own after seeing "Rambo: First Blood." "'Son of Rambow' is a funny, moving and beautifully crafted tale of friendship and the poignant journey of filmmaking," said John Lesher, President of Paramount Vantage, in a prepared statement. "We are thrilled to be distributing 'Son of Rambow and welcome director Garth Jennings, and the creative visionaries Hammer & Tongs, to our family." [Amy Bronson]
