Pawnee is safe for another year. NBC announced today that Greg Daniels and Michael Schur impossibly sweet yet somehow always funny comedy has been renewed for a sixth season.

The news was first reported by Alan Sepinwall at HitFix, who heard from a source close to the production, and was shortly after confirmed by NBC. The Amy Poehler-led comedy wasn't in major peril, though nothing ever seems certain among the broadcast networks at the moment.

NBC has yet to announce a timeslot for the new season or how many episodes it will consist of.
