Veteran film executive Chris Paton has been named Senior Vice President, Acquisitions & Development at sales company, Fortissimo Films. He most recently served as Vice Chairman of DDA Public Relations where Fortissimo is a long-standing client. Paton previously set up the UK arm of Falco Ink which was acquired by London-based agency Premier PR in 2001. He started his career at TriStar Pictures in New York.
Based in London, Paton will be responsible for centralizing Fortissimo's acquisitions operations working with the existing acquisitions team, sourcing new product, developing current projects as well as finding new production opportunities that match the group's vision. Paton joins Fortissimo as the company heads to Berlin with four films in official selection including Robert Kenner's "Food Inc," Nati Baratz' "Unmistaken Child," Hsiao-tse Cheng's "Miao Miao," and James D. Stern & Adam Del Deo's "Every Little Step."
