In a Toronto International Film Festival diary entry, People Magazine's Leah Rozen offers her take on this year's festival and shares a few early Oscar prognostications:
After a winter, spring and summer of mostly lousy, forgettable, pea-brained movies (Little Miss Sunshine, Superman Returns, Thank You for Smoking and a few others excepted), the festival serves as the launching pad for Hollywood's quality offerings due in theaters this fall. The noisiest Oscar buzz at this year's festival, which wraps up its 10-day run today, was focused more on performances than films.
