Phase 4 Grabs Rights to Eva Longoria-Billy Bob Thornton Comedy 'The Baytown Outlaws' for a 2013 Release

Phase 4 Films has acquired all North American rights to the Barry Battles-directed action comedy “The Baytown Outlaws.” Eva Longoria, Billy Bob Thornton, Paul Wesley, Andre Braugher and Thomas Brodie-Sangster star in the LLeju Productions project (once titled "The Baytown Disco"), which Phase 4 plans to release theatrically early in 2013.

In “Outlaws,” three Alabama brothers wrestle with crooked cops, Feds, mobsters, bikers, femme fatales and more after making the mistake of trying to do a good deed. Battles wrote the screenplay with Griffin Hood.

LLeju’s William O. Perkins financed and produced the film along with Robert Teitel of State Street Pictures. Hood, Ryan Jones, Thomas J. Busch and MaryVernieuare executive producers.

“‘The Baytown Outlaws’ is an absolute crowd pleaser as it combines lots of action with sharp humor led by an amazing group of actors,” said Phase 4 president and CEO Berry Meyerowitz.

Phase 4’s Larry Greenberg and Katharyn Howe negotiated the deal with WME Global on behalf of the filmmakers. Highland Film Group reps international sales.

Phase 4 Films has recently released “Hick” and “Another Happy Day.” Upcoming releases include “Electrick Children,” “See Girl Run” and “Bindlestiffs.”
