Playing Jeopardy! in Cannes: See If You Can Guess Which Projects Will Make The Cut

Leonardo DiCaprio is attached to a project that was announced by Red Granite on the first day of Cannes 2011.

Today is the official opening of Cannes. But it's only 3pm local time, which means the action so far has been limited to the open floodgate of press releases announcing new productions. Releases that, judging by prior years' track records, represent films that may (or may not) get made and/or receive significant release and/or audience. But can you tell which is which?

We'd like you to decide that. So here are four just-announced film projects, broken apart by title, logline, cast and key crew. See if you can guess which one has distribution, which one has financing, and which one has a start date. The answers are after the jump -- but more importantly, we'd like to know which of these you'd actually like to see in a theater.

A. "30-year-old-med student Liz Quinn meets charming 22-year-old Baxter Wood. Their chemistry is electric until she realizes they have already met  - she was his babysitter 15 years ago.  But Baxter isn’t going to give up that easily on the one person he always felt knew him better than anyone else."

B. "An action adventure spy film following Danny, one of the world's most skilled special-ops agents. Lured out of self-imposed exile to execute a near-impossible feat of retribution and personal salvation, Danny reassembles his old team of operatives to help rescue his former mentor and to penetrate the highly feared and respected military unit, the British Special Air Service.  Facing off against a covert group of ex-SAS soldiers known as 'The Feather Men,' who, under their leader Spike, provide a deadly cloak of security around all SAS members, Danny and his team must take down a rogue cell of solider assassins before their actions result in a global political meltdown."

C. "Chronicles Jordan's Belfort's dramatic rise and fall, along with his hard-partying lifestyle and tumultuous personal life, which included drug addiction."

D. "A coming of age road comedy about a beautiful, adventurous young Italian woman named Idea Fanti. A recent college graduate and budding ornithologist, Idea comes to the U.S. to study the American Bald Eagle. When she arrives in Irvine, California, Idea discovers that her position has been eliminated due to budget cuts. Determined to follow her dream, and the migration pattern of the American Bald Eagles, Idea sets out alone from California in search of an identity apart from her eccentric and over-protective family and a position at the renowned Bald Eagle Research Institute at the Okeefenokee Swamp in Georgia. On her drive across the country, Idea sees the best and worst of America through the odd assortment of people whom she meets. When she finally gets to Georgia and lands the job of her dreams, an unexpected love affair turns her upside down. At the end of her journey, Idea proves to herself that she is the beautiful, independent young woman she always wanted to be."

Here's the casts and key crew members:

1. Stars: Katie Holmes and Chace Crawford.  Jon Poll will direct. Michael Roiff from Night & Day Pictures is producing with Julie Yorn.  Myriad Pictures is selling international rights.

2. Stars: Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert DeNiro. Directed by Gary McKendry. Produced by Michael Boughen through financier Omnilab Media’s Australian production arm, Ambience Entertainment, alongside Sigurjon Sighvatsson, Steve Chasman, and Tony Winley.

3. Stars: Leonardo Di Caprio. Di Caprio, Alexandra Milchan, Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland are producers. Written by Terence Winter.

4. Stars: Orlando Bloom, Cristina Capatondi, Nick Nolte and Stanley Tucci. Written and being directed by Cecilia Miniucchi. Produced by Jeffrey Coulter, Fred Roos, Claudio Saraceni and Jenny Hinckey. Worldwide sales handled by Indomina Releasing.

The films are….

"Killer Elite"
