'Prisoners' Star Hugh Jackman To Receive Golden Icon Award at Zurich Film Festival

The Zurich Film Festival today announced that Hugh Jackman is slated to receive the Golden Icon Award at this year's edition of the annual festival, taking place September 26 to October 6. Jackman will be on hand to accept the lifetime achievement award on September 28, and present a gala screening of his latest film "Prisoners," directed by Denis Villeneuve ("Incendies"). The thriller is making its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next week.

The Zurich Film Festival today announced that Hugh Jackman is slated to receive the Golden Icon Award at this year's edition of the annual festival, taking place September 26 to October 6. Jackman will be on hand to accept the lifetime achievement award on September 28, and present a gala screening of his latest film "Prisoners," directed by Denis Villeneuve ("Incendies"). The thriller is making its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next week.

"Hugh Jackman is in a class by himself as a multi-talented entertainer with a global following," said ZFF director Karl Spoerri. "There is nothing he can’t do and he proves this time and time again with every project he’s involved in. We’re honored to recognize his brilliant career at the Zurich Film Festival."

Richard Gere was last year's recipient of the award.
