Impostor; Metcalfe Directs Stone and Connolly

Dwight Yoakam, who already segued from country singer to actor with a
critically lauded role as the heavy, Doyle, in "Sling Blade," is leaping into another film, this time as writer and director of "South of Heaven, West of
," a period Western currently shooting in Arizona. Yoakam, who
co-wrote the script with Stan Bertheaud ("Painted Hero"), directs and
also joins the ensemble cast of the film, which tells the tale of a
bounty hunter tracking down the man who raised him as a child. A
partial listing of the gonzo cast includes Peter Fonda ("Ulee's Gold,"
"The Limey"), daughter Bridget Fonda ("Jackie Brown"), Billy Bob
("Sling Blade"), Vince Vaughn ("Clay Pigeons"), Paul Reubens
("Mystery Men"), Joaquin Phoenix ("8 MM"), Michael Jeter ("The Fisher
King") and Bud Cort ("Harold and Maude," "Dogma"). CinePoint
and Behaviour Worldwide produce, with Mark Damon as
executive producer, and Gray Frederickson, Daris Hatch, Stephen LoCascio
and Michael Russell as producers.

Alan Cumming (of "Cabaret" and the upcoming "Titus" fame) is set to star
in the Scottish film "Younger Than Springtime," for producer Peter
("Rob Roy") and new director Stephen Whitaker. The
story, written by Declan Hughes, is based on the true story of a
30-something year old man who returned to high school under an assumed
identity as an 18 year old to qualify for medical school in Canada.
Financiers include Overseas Film Group, Bonaparte, Kinowelt, the Isle of
Man Film Commission
, the Glasgow Film Fund and the Scottish lotto.

"Beautiful Joe," a romantic comedy from writer-director Stephen Metcalfe
(writer of "Cousins," "Jacknife"), is currently in pre-production,
gearing up for a June shoot in Vancouver. Sharon Stone ("The Mighty")
and Billy Connolly ("Mrs. Brown") are tentatively set to star in the
film, which deals with an Irish immigrant saving and falling in love
with a woman on the run from Mafia loan sharks. Steven Haft ("Emma")
and Fred Fuchs ("The Virgin Suicides") are producing.
