PRODUCTION BRIEFS: Two Digital Debuts; Saul Williams Returns

According to the Hollywood Reporter, IFC Productions and Sloss Special Projects' new digital arm InDigEnt (Independent Digital Entertainment) has begun shooting its first digital video production, "Final" from actor and director Campbell Scott, who co-directed, co-produced and co-starred with Stanley Tucci in "Big Night." Denis Leary ("Jesus' Son") and Hope Davis ("Mumford") star in the film, which tells the story of a mysterious man picked up wandering the streets and the doctors struggling to uncover his secrets. Bruce McIntosh wrote the script, and Scott and Mary Frances Budig produce. Gary Winick and Alexis Alexanian of InDigEnt will also produce, along with John Sloss, Caroline Kaplan and Jonathan Sehring of IFC.

Digital Film Division, another digital video-focused consortium (this one a
combo of GreeneStreet Films, Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Longfellow
Pictures), is also set to begin shooting their first feature, called "Famous," from director Griffin Dunne ("Practical Magic") and writers Nat
DeWolfe and Laura Kirk. The film is a comedic v*rit* mockumentary about
aspiring actors set in New York City, and Dolly Hall and Mira Sorvino

Variety reports that Saul Williams (IFP award-winner for "Slam") is set to star in "King of the Korner" alongside Leo Fitzpatrick, for debut writer-director James Mathers. The film tells the tale of the downward
spiral of various characters in Southern California's homeless street community. Kees Kasander ("The Pillow Book") and Victoria Goodall produce.
