Project of the Day: 2003...The Biggest Protest in History

By Indiewire | Indiewire November 30, 2011 at 11:38AM

Remember the big anti-war march in Feb 2003? It was the biggest the world had ever seen. 800 cities, nearly 30 million people – also the potential audience for this movie. Everyone thought it was a big failure, right? Wrong! It didn’t stop the war - but what if we showed you what it did achieve? Like inspiring other global activist networks right up to the Arab Spring and the Occupy Movements. And how the movement learned many lessons and is doing things bigger and better. We have A-List names attached and captivating characters across 6 continents telling the story.

About the Production:

"I took part in the day in Berlin - the biggest protest I had ever seen. Couldn’t believe there might be another war. Back in London, I found out the march was even bigger. And that the day was the biggest mobilization in history. As a filmmaker, I knew there had to be an amazing story there. Something like that doesn’t just happen. It’s been a thrilling journey over 5 years. The people I have met, their stories, their passion, the epic sweep of the story. I don’t just want to tell it. I HAVE to tell it." - Amir Amirani
