Here's your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you'll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

"Umbrella"

Tweetable Logline:

Amputee. International Superstar. Dying patient. Broken child. Lonesome nurse. What do they all have in common?

Elevator Pitch:

We have all had to deal with forgiveness in our life. But what if you were a witness to a woman being attacked, and despite your best efforts in helping her, wound up having your leg amputated as a direct result of the melee?

How about learning from the police that the woman you attempted to save was raped? How could you live with yourself?

What if your wife, unable to cope with the stress and pressure of the marriage, decided to take another man into your bedroom?

This is Alexander Way's story.

Production Team:

Director/Writer: Michael Smith
Producers: Joshua Herron, Jessica Brown & Scott Clifton
Co-writer: Jessica Brown
Editor: Michael Smith
Cinematographer: David Smith.

About the Production:

"The power of film is telling heartfelt stories. Recently the storytelling has been lost on numerous high-budget 'Hollywood' blockbusters. We wanted to tell a story about forgiveness and redemption. Everyone in all walks of life has to deal with these feelings from time-to-time, so becomes instantly personal. It's about time we wrestled away from high-budget explosions, back to personal tales of heroic kindness. Umbrella is being made by a tight group of individuals who believe in the moral values of cinema, and wish to bring back the stories that made it the greatest form of art in the world." - Michael Smith
